Melbourne DJ/Producer, MIAMI HORROR will support English remix team and creators of “good, old fashioned, analogue party music”, SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO at their Sydney and Melbourne shows in January.
MIAMI HORROR is one of Australia’s most exciting musical prospects with his unique blend of electro, punk, funk, disco fun in high demand from DJ’s, promoters, artists & clubbers alike. He is also the main beat master and producer for the successful Melbourne based electro group Gameboy/Gamegirl.
In the space of a year, MIAMI HORROR has remixed songs for the likes of Pnau, The Presets, Faker, Datarock, and Midnight Juggernauts. His remixes are guaranteed dance floor hits, immediately downloaded across the world and talked about all over the internet.
Producers and purveyors of a thumping live show, SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO A.K.A James Ford and Jas Shaw, used to anchor the rhythm section in a band called Simian but in order to get their fix of electronic party music, the duo began booking DJ sets. They'd finish a Simian gig then run off to play electro records to small, sweaty rooms full of people who often seemed to be having more fun than the audiences at their gigs.
“Theirs is an environment fashioned by a hailstorm of light, decadent tunes and writhing bodies,” sighed MusicOMH after witnessing SMD in full effect. And It’s the Beat is liable to get “the whole crowd vying for a little bit of space in which to dance in whilst simultaneously straining to see how they actually create those delicious sounds,” raved Neu!
