Reminisce Melbourne - Classic House
Reminisce is a world first dance music count down event, being held at Prince Bandroom in Melbourne.
Reminisce is a innovative concept where patrons vote online for their top 10 classic house tracks of all time and then the top 50 is played live. The entire top 50 is being played live by John Course, arguably one of Melbourne's most influential house DJ's from over the years. John will be taking us through Melbourne's entire top 50.
What is Reminisce?
"Reminisce is a dance music revolution, a new way of thinking".
"Reminisce is a fully interactive party, where every single person on the dance floor has a say into what songs are played".
Over the years Melbourne has cemented itself as the dance music capital of Australia, and has gained much notoriety worldwide for its instantly recognizable Melbourne sound. What a better way to celebrate than to let the people who have made that sound possible the punters vote for their top 50 house songs of all time?
Lets turn back the clock to when you first started going out and listening to house music. For some people it might be 05, some people 95, some people earlier. Everybodys journey has a different path. It doesnt matter. All that matters is the music. Remembering the tracks which gave you that buzz inside, made the hair on the back of your neck stand up and put a big dirty smile across your face every time you heard that first beat drop. Every song has a story behind it: A festival moment, a memory of a certain person, a song that you still love as much today as the first time you heard it on the hill at Summadayze, in the backroom at prince, or at revolver on a Sunday all of those years ago.
So what do we want from you? We want you to dust off your old vinyl crate, look through your CD collection, and sift through all of the old tracks on your I Pod. We want you to talk with friends, share YouTube links on Facebook, to argue why you think your favourite track will take out number one. We want you to reminisce about the good times, about the tunes that shaped your musical taste forever. Remembering the days when you fist pumped, pointed to the heavens and exploded inside with excitement.
Then, produce your top 10 and submit your vote right here on the Reminisce website. Votes will be tallied and mixed down from 50 to the all coveted number 1 spot by arguably one of Melbournes most influential house music DJ's.
