MSTRKRFT
MSTRKRFT are the mask wearing, gyrate inducing, whisky-loving Canadian duo who in recent years have developed a cult following that would give Charles Manson a run for his money.
Comprised of Jesse F Keeler (aka JFK and of Death From Above 1979 fame) and studio wiz Alex Puodziukas (aka AL-P), MSTRKRFT made a major contribution to the advancement of electro in 2006 with their debut album The Looks, which featured instant hits Easy Love, Work on You, Paris and Street Justice. Complementing what was regarded by many as one of the finest dance albums in years were phenomenal remixes for the likes of Bloc Party, Wolfmother, The Kills, Armand Van Helden, Metric, Chromeo, Goose and The Gossip – a body of work that gave these Ontarian lads a one-way ticket to electronic royalty with the likes of Justice, Soulwax and Digitalism.
After touring the world vigorously last year, 2008 sees no-stopping for the MSTRKRFT juggernaut with a second artist album set for release later in the year. And what can we expect from their latest offering? Well if the rave-tastic VuVuVu and hip-hop laced Bounce are anything to go by, we’d better be prepared to get down and dirty like never before as we’re taken on a journey of underground beats, chaotic drops and addictive hooks.
So, after leaving us used up, danced out and exhausted but happy with their unmistakable guitar-infused electro rave sound during the 2007 Parklife National Tour, MSTRKRFT are coming back bigger and better and are ready to make us go MTHRFCKING CRZY once again!
